When to call your mortgage planner:
What kind of mortgage do you currently have on your home? What is the interest rate? Is it going to adjust soon? How much will your payments increase? Do you currently have Private Mortgage Insurance on your home and are wondering when you can drop it? Are you wondering if you should refinance your current mortgage? Did you know that it’s possible to refinance a high interest ARM into an FHA loan and get a very competitive interest rate even if your credit isn’t in the greatest shape?
If you’re confused at all about how your mortgage loan actually works don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and call your mortgage planner, he should be happy to help you answer any of your questions. And if he isn’t then find a new one!
When to call your Realtor:
Are you thinking about adding on a new addition to your home, redoing your bathroom or kitchen or finishing the basement? (Your mortgage professional can assist you with home equity loans if necessary.) Your Realtor can help you price it out in comparison with the rest of the neighborhood to determine whether or not this kind of move would be prudent. Again, if your current real estate agent is unwilling to assist you with this, find a new one!
Are you curious to know how much the neighbor got for his house? Your Realtor can provide you with all the information such as size, length of time it took to sell, closing price and so on.
Your Real Estate and Mortgage Professionals are supposed to be interested in developing a lasting relationship with you: one that involves more than just buying and selling houses. They should be happy to listen to your questions and concerns and if they can’t answer it themselves find someone who can.
