Broomfield City Council updates
Did you know that you’re allowed to attend Broomfield City Council meetings to find out what is going on in your area before it all happens? The next meeting is September 25 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the City and County Building at 1 DesCombes Dr. You can also get on their email list to have the minutes emailed to you and you can watch a video tape of the event (afterward) on the Internet.
Broomfield Economic Development Corporation President Don Dunshee reported that White Wave Foods is leasing additional space in Interlocken, and that companies from Louisville and California are doing the same. It appears that on the northwest corner of 136th & Huron (Lambertson Farms) we will eventually see an 11-building office/retail area which will look like a “small, old downtown type center” using mostly brick designs and patterns. (Plus an auto parts store!)
It also appears that we will eventually have an area within Interlocken that combines both brand new multi-family homes and more office units. [At this point one could point out that if the economy and housing are in such a crisis why are builders considering such ambitious projects? (Because there is no crisis!!) I’m just sayin’…]
The League of Women Voters will be sponsoring a City Council candidate forum and it will be broadcast on Channel 8.
