Compare prices via cell phone

At a time when most of us can use a little extra cash in our wallets, Amazon has come up with a way for us to comparison shop via our cell phones. I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I’m at the store (especially the book store) and I see a book I’m interested in, but I know I better check Amazon first to see how the prices compare. Except since I no longer use a Blackberry I can’t just hop on the Internet via my phone. I can certainly send text message using my phone and now I can use that ability to comparison shop.

Check out this article on comparison shopping with Amazon using your cell phone.

Shoppers can text the name of the product, a description, a UPC code #, or ISBN # to 262966 (Amazon) and if Amazon carries that particular product, it will text you back and let you know, allowing you to buy it on the spot, or request more information.

I love Amazon’s “free shipping” service if you spend $25 or more (on most things) and I am a HUGE comparison shopper so I think I’m going to enjoy this thoroughly.
