Did you know that you can either attend a Broomfield City Council meeting in person, or you can sign up to receive the minutes via email, or you can watch a video of the meeting from the comfort of your own laptop? I subscribe to the City Council minutes and get them in my inbox the day after a monthly meeting. I usually post the points I find interesting here:
One Broomfield resident requested that Broomfield ban the placement of trashcans on the sidewalk during trash pickup days. Apparently he was concerned that it was dangerous to step around them. Since only one council member thought it was worth discussion it didn’t go any further.
If you live in the Aspen or Bellaire neighborhoods your street repair should be finished in mid-July. If you live in Westlake, your street work will start in mid-July and end in October.
There was also some discussion regarding panhandling on the off ramp of US36 towards Highway 287. Concerns mentioned were safety, image and 1st Amendment rights. Basically, it’s being left at status quo.
Another citizen requested that folks who distribute flyers and leaflets register with the City and County of Broomfield as the solicitors are required to do. The City Attorneys office will research the request.
