Things to do when you’re stuck inside in Broomfield

Posted by admin - August 16th, 2008

Greetings Broomfielders on this rainy, rainy, rainy day. The brief chill in the air has me thinking of things I might be able to do before the chill sets in and stays in a couple of months and I’ve decided maybe I’ll start on yet another crocheting project. I pretty much suck at crochet, but hope springs eternal, right?

My mother can crochet, knit, sew, and quilt with her eyes closed and in her sleep and my grandmother was essentially the same way. Me, not so much. I have made some okay baby type stuff for friends but that’s about as good as it gets. Wait, I actually made some very nice potholders for myself!

So I’m thinking today would be a good day to start on one of those projects I swore I was going to do LAST winter and never did. So the best part about the Internet is all the free stuff online and if today’s crappy weather has inspired you to get ready for winter here are some sources for free patterns for you to try.

One-Piece Crocheted Slipper Pattern (start on these now for Christmas presents!)

Crocheted Catnip Mouse (they also have a knit pattern). My cats LOVE these. Unfortunately the dog gets her mitts on them and rips them up when she can. Stuff them with cotton and catnip! (It’s crocheted in a square instead of rounds, which I really suck at, so that makes this pattern super easy.)

Here is a huge list of free crochet patterns for all your “pet” projects!

Ginormous list of free crochet patterns all over the Internet.
