Free photo editing help

It’s always nice to have free stuff but never more so than right now. I TRY to take pictures but they mostly suck, so I need all the help I can get and you’d be amazed at what some of the free photo editing programs can do for a lousy picture.
Try Picnik where you can not only edit the color and exposure, you can add really fun effects such as making it look like it was drawn in pencil or even place a frame around your snapshot.
Then there is Picasa which is available to download free of charge from Google. This also has a variety of editing features. Note in this one I made the Orange Kitty’s face orange but the rest of him black and white.
Finally, you have paint.net at which I am pretty much awful. It requires more skills than my pea brain can handle, other than being able to crop photos and add some text if I get lucky. However, if you are far more advanced than I, and don’t want to shell out the bucks for Photoshop for instance, this is a great program.
