The Mortgage Bankers Association is offering a free course online on buying a home. Click here to see it. This should be especially helpful for first time home buyers.


Also according to the MBA mortgage application loan activity is WAY up due to historically low interest rates. In fact, they noted in their press release:


The average contract interest rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages decreased to 4.89 percent from 5.07 percent, with points increasing to 1.20 from 1.16 (including the origination fee) for 80 percent loan-to-value (LTV) ratio loans. The contract rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages is the lowest recorded in the survey.
