There are opportunities galore to take advantage of summer reading at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library in Broomfield.
Adults
“Embrace Your Muse” is the name of this summer’s program which lasts from June 1 – August 1. You must register by July 18. Participants get a library pen and then must read 3 books to be eligible for prizes including tickets to Ballet Nouveau, certificates for dance classes, a certificate for music instruction, music CDs, one-day passes to Broomfield Recreation facilities, a Zen MP3 player and more.
Children
The children’s program also starts June 1 and you can register by visiting the children’s desk at the library and filling out a card. Children who are birth through 6th grade (for fall) are eligible. Only books that you read AFTER you sign up count and children who are unable to read may count the books that are read to them. For each level of reading you complete, you can collect a gift.
Teens
Of course the teens get a reading program of their own as well. Stop by the Teen Zone desk if you’re between the ages of 7th grade (fall) through 12th. The teen program is comprehensive and involves sports, music, drawing and dance. You can earn prizes for reading a certain number of books.
