Discount prescription cards available for North Metro Denver area

Federal Heights recently announced that they would be participating in the National League of Cities Prescription Discount Card Program and I thought I’d take this chance to point out that there are already several cities within the north metro Denver area that already participate.

You can click here to search for your city or state.
Click here for the City of Broomfield card.
Click here for the City of Northglenn card.
Click here for the City of Thornton card.
Click here for the City of Westminster card.

According to the website you can receive an average of 20% off a prescription’s regular price.

If you’re looking to save money on prescription drugs remember that you should also comparison shop. WalMart, Target, and Costco often have very competitive prices on prescription drugs. Sometimes it’s cheaper to ask your dr to prescribe a larger dosage of pill and then cut the pill in half. Ask your dr if there is a generic or acceptable alternative to the drug you’re taking. Finally, download this helpful brochure from Consumer Reports on Prescription Assistance Programs which often helps those who can’t afford the drugs they need to get them free of charge or for very little cost.
