COLUMBINE MEADOWS QUICK FACTS: Adams 12 Five-Star School District (Mountain View Elementary, Westlake Middle, Legacy High) / Built in late 1980’s / No HOA / Highest sold price 2014: $280,000
The Columbine Meadows Lifestyle
History: Homes were built in the late 1980’s.
Housing: Columbine Meadows is one of Broomfield’s most affordable neighborhoods that includes sizeable yards, 2 car attached garages, and no HOA! Prices start in the mid $200’s and most homes go under contract within days right now. They’re a very manageable size – about 1,300 to 1,800 square feet and generally include 2-3 bedrooms plus 2-3 bathrooms. It’s also located in the highly sought after Adams 12 5-Star School District.
Family Fitness: The neighborhood includes a large park located in the heart of Columbine Meadows, plus one on the south east side of the area with baseball diamond, and basketball court, and easy access to the Big Dry Creek walking trails through the Willow Run neighborhood next door. There’s also the Tom Frost Reservoir a couple of blocks to the west of the neighborhood, and even closer on the south side is the Metzger Family Farm Open Space project. Both provide tranquil walking trails and fishing ponds. And then just up the street from that is the Paul Derda Rec Center. To the east by bike, or mere minutes in the car, is the Big Dry Creek park with an off-leash dog park, baseball and soccer fields as well as pavilions and playgrounds.
According to a recent survey by qazzoo.com a whopping 42% of home buyers complained about a “lack of timely follow up by the real estate agent.” I can promise you, that will NEVER happen with me! I return phone calls and emails 7 days a week.
Restaurants and Shopping: It’s always incredibly convenient to be located near 120th Ave in Broomfield! Columbine Meadows is northeast of 120th Ave and Lowell Blvd and if you travel east there are several new restaurants located at on Federal Blvd in the large shopping center with the TruFit gym. If you travel west on 120th Ave, just a little bit up the street, is the Bradburn Center which includes several unique restaurants such as The Exchange Tavern, Early Bird, and Ted’s Montana Grill. Then a bit farther up from that on Sheridan Blvd there are stores and restaurants on all 4 corners of the intersection including Sprouts, Kohls Dept Store, a newly remodeled King Soopers and Blackjack Pizza. And within walking distance of Columbine Meadows is a small strip mall that includes a Dominoes Pizza, gas station, quilting store and car wash. Just north of that is another small shopping area that includes Chicos which is a fabulous neighborhood Mexican restaurant which has been there forever and is incredibly popular among the locals.
