Anthem Highlands - Sol Vista Model - Skinny Mini Walking Tour

Posted by admin - April 2nd, 2008

Next up in my series of Anthem Highlands Skinny Mini Walking Tours is the Sol Vista model. I have to admit, this is my personal favorite. I like the layout, I especially like the sweeping staircase and of course I like the master bathroom which is always an important detail for me!

The Sol Vista model is 2,718 square feet and starts in the mid $400’s. As of this writing there were a couple homes available and more due out in July and August.

Anthem Highlands is open to any age buyer and family whereas Anthem Ranch is only for the 50+ crowd because it is an active adult community.

Many home buyers prefer to have a Realtor represent their interests as a buyer’s agent. I would be happy to help you out with this and if you buy a home in either Anthem Highlands or Anthem Ranch and use me as your buyer’s agent I’ll throw in a $1,000 gift certificate to the Great Indoors store as a special thank you.

On to the Walking Tour video!

Anthem Highlands - Monarch Model - Skinny Mini Walking Tour

Posted by admin - April 2nd, 2008

This is the first in the series of the video I took while touring the Anthem Highlands home models in Broomfield, Colorado real estate. You may have seen my videos from the Anthem Ranch subdivision which is “across the street” from the Anthem Highlands subdivision. While in Anthem Ranch a member of your family must be at least 50 years old (it’s an active adult community) Anthem Highlands has no age restrictions.

This particular video highlights the Monarch Model which is 2,509 square feet and starts in the mid $400’s. As of this writing there is a Monarch home available in March and a couple that will be available in June.

I will make the same offer for Anthem Highlands homes that I am making for the Anthem Ranch homes: use me as your Realtor to buy any Anthem Highlands home in 2008 and I’ll give you a $1,000 gift certificate to the Great Indoors store.

Please enjoy the video!

Not my niche!

Posted by admin - March 8th, 2008

Realtors often choose niche markets in which to specialize. Jackie Youngblood in Florida specializes in “naked real estate.” Before you get too excited I meant that she specializes in “Clothing Optional and Nudist Resorts” in Pasco County, Florida.

I suspect there is not a big call for that in Colorado. And even if there is, don’t expect me to go and find it for you! Not that there’s anything wrong with that - I kinda had to say that, didn’t I - I’m about as free market as they come - it’s just not my niche.

I do specialize in the Broomfield area however and in higher priced homes - I am just starting a video collection of “Skinny Mini Walking Tours” and have covered Anthem Ranch and The Reserve at the Broadlands so far, if you’d like to take a peek in those homes from the comfort of your own home.

If you have any questions about Broomfield Real Estate give me a call at 303.887.1883 or email me at beth@bethskinner.com.

Why Broomfield Home Buyers Should Think Twice About Short Sales

Posted by admin - March 4th, 2008

There have been a few excellent posts recently, by other real estate bloggers, about the pitfalls of buying a short sale property.

You can check them out for yourself here:

“On the surface, it may appear that a short-sale buyer is getting a good deal. Although a slim margin of short sales may be profitable for a buyer — because there are always exceptions — much of the time, a buyer would be better off buying a home that is not in default.”~ Elizabeth Weintraub

“Short Sales need more attention, as they are very tricky and misleading.” ~ Frank Llosa

“Looking for a bargain? Great. Just remember this. It’s often like buying yesterday’s donut instead of a warm Krispy Kreme straight from the oven.” ~ Ardell DellaLoggia

Let’s face it, there are plenty of homes out there for sale right now, and as a buyer you can have your pick in most areas. Why not go for the home that is “pretty, pristine, and priced right” instead of the home that causes you more grief than it’s probably worth, and is sold completely “as is?”
